The Comparative Anatomy and Histology of the Cerebellum From Monotremes Through Apes.
Olof Larsell's studies of the comparative anatomy of the cerebellum, which spanned more than 40 years, resulted in the publication of numerous original papers. His nomenclature for identifying the major anatomical subdivisions of the cerebellum has been accepted widely. He planned to publish two volumes summarizing the comparative anatomy of the cerebellum from lower animals through man, but unfortunately his death prevented completion of this ambitious project. Happily, Dr. Jan Jansen has undertaken the job of editing Larsell's work so that his project will be carried to completion. The first volume of Larsell's work,The Comparative Anatomy and Histology of the Cerebellum From Myxinoids through Birds, was edited by Dr. Jansen and published in 1967. The present volume, the second in the series, will be followed by a third volume on the anatomy of the human cerebellum, which will complete the work.
