Hydrides of the Main-Group Metals: New Variations on an Old Theme
The gas-phase studies of transition metal hydrides and their coordination chemistry was presented. The synthesis of the hydrides by addition, metathesis and decomposition and elimination reactions, and the characterization of their physical, thermodynamic and vibrational properties was discussed. The studies also included the chemical aspects of the homolytic and heterolytic cleavage of the metal-hydrogen bonds.
