Sudapyridine (WX-081), a Novel Compound against Mycobacterium tuberculosis

This study is aimed at chemotherapy for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB), mainly to develop new anti-TB drugs to kill Mycobacterium tuberculosis, a microorganism with strong drug resistance. In this study, the structure of a potent antituberculosis compound, bedaquiline (BDQ), was optimized to generate a new compound, sudapyridine (WX-081). This experiment showed that its efficacy was similar to that of BDQ, its cardiotoxicity was lower, and it had good kinetic characteristics. This compound will certainly achieve significant results in the control and treatment of tuberculosis in the future.
