The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is the cause of AIDS, one of the Worlds' deadliest infections, with approximately 34 million people currently infected with HIV. As a result, numerous HIV research has been carried out in the past 30 years, producing a large number of publications. This has highlighted the need for comprehensive, accurate and well-annotated HIV resources that allow for easy access to reliable information that is normally difficult to find. Furthermore, with the increase in antiviral drug resistance there is an ever-growing necessity for the development of novel antiviral therapies. Considering that the current antiviral drugs target specific HIV proteins, extensive knowledge of these proteins is required by researchers.
