The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS)
Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) is commonly used by doctors to determine the levels of anxiety and depression that a patient is experiencing. The HADS is a fourteen item scale: 7 items relate to anxiety and 7 relate to depression. Scores of 0-7 in respective subscales are considered normal, with 8-10 borderline and 11 or over indicating clinical caseness.
