Slip Diffusion and Lévy Flights of an Adsorbed Gold Nanocluster
Anomalous diffusion of a gold nanocrystal ${\mathrm{Au}}_{140}$, adsorbed on the basal plane of graphite, exhibiting L\'evy-type power-law flight-length and sticking-time distributions, is predicted through extensive molecular dynamics simulations. An atomistic collective slip-diffusion mechanism is proposed and analyzed.
