Evolutionary Topology Optimization of Continuum Structures: Methods and Applications
Since the late 1980s. enormous progress has been made in the theory, methods and applications of topology optimization. Among various numerical methods for topology optimization, Evolutionary Structural Optimization (ESO) and Bi-directional Evolutionary Structural Optimization (BESO) have been extensively investigated by many researchers around the world. The first book on ESO was publi shed by Y.M. Xie and G.P. Steven in 1997. Since then the field has experienced rapid developments with a variety of new algorithms and a growing number of app li cations.
