A Cognitive-Developmental Approach to Moral Education.
The aim of education is growth or development, both intellectual and moral. Ethical and psycho logical principles can aid the school in the greatest of all con structions -the building of a free and powerful character. Only knowledge of the order and con nection of the stages in psycho logical development can insure this. Education is the work of supplying the conditions which will enable the psychological func tions to mature in the freest and fullest manner.1
